Recent News

It has been a busy couple of weeks in our small New England Town we call Beautiful Place By The Sea...On our last update we had Richie Havens coming our way and boy did he come our way! Really, the word "legend" suits him so well...he puts everyone in awe when you see him perform in person.



Amanda Shaw was also at Jonathan's Ogunquit the night before RH, showing us all how the Fiddle REALLY is played- New Orleans style! Keep an eye on this one as she is something special!



We had a big Lobster Bake Rehearsal Dinner, a wedding and a baby shower the next weekend that kept us rather busy. Congratulations to Phoebe Francis & her family, Ted Smith & Melissa Kilbride, the Chulpsa/Moulton Wedding group and to the Peffer Family all who had their special, family occasions at our restaurant.

This past weekend we kept it folk style with Tracy Grammer on Friday night and Red Molly, the folk trio, on Sunday! Jonathan said that they were some of the best shows he has seen. In between cooking in the kitchen and schmoozing in the lounge, he made it upstairs to actually sit down and listen to both of these shows because he said they were just so amazing! Pictures to follow...although I have a feeling that Jonathan was too caught up listening to the shows this past weekend to remember to take the camera out for some shots....I'll have to get back to you on this!

Now remember we have just a few shows left this year...Patty Larkin 10/17, Suzanne Westenhoefer 10/21, Jonatha Brooke 10/24 and Leon Redbone 12/05. It has been a few weeks since our last update. For those of you who missed the Kaki King show...well, you picked the wrong show to miss! She was amazing. I was watching the movie, "August Rush", and heard her amazing talents yet again and I was so moved. In all of her press information there was nothing mentioned about her music in the movie, but boy was it apparent!

Anyhow, tonight we have Richie Havens appearing...There are a few tickets left but you better call now! 207-646-4777

Satisfaction, Sera Cahoone & Matt Costa

WHAT A NIGHT!Show started at 8:00 p.m. and jammed thru Midnight! Honestly, an amazing night! We originally just booked Matt Costa for his August 3rd Concert and only a few weeks before the show we were contacted by Matt's agent to see if Sera Cahoone could open for him...We checked out her CD, loved it, offered her dinner and she was added to the line up! A few days later his agent mentioned that Matt wanted to come with his whole band, Satisfaction, and they wanted to play a set or two as well! So, why not? It was great to have such energy in the room!
Was there some resemblance with Sera and the painting behind her? Was it a calling for her to come and play at Jonathan's Ogunquit? Just joking of course...but you know, we can not help but make light of the situation....when all of the pictures we take of these amazing artists come out with the portrait of the woman in the background! Yes, for any of you who have heard Bob Marley's comments about this portrait...it is the same one I am writing about now!

All three groups certainly moved me to listen to their fan pages and music lists! Kudos once again to Jonathan for bringing some more great, up and coming new talent to the area!

She is always so nice to have with us. This time she came with her son Thomas E. He bobbed around the restaurant playing with his red laser light and getting the back scene view of how a restaurant runs with Jonathan while his mom laughed it up with about 250 fans!

BOB MARLEY - SOLD OUT SHOW!

BOB MARLEY, "wicked good comedy" was back last week! What a show! We packed over 240 comedy lovers in the room and laughed away! Honestly, once you see Bob Marley you really can not get enough of him! We had people that have been to all of his shows here at Jonathan's Ogunquit! Bob Marley will be back again this summer on Thursday, August 21st. Tickets are already selling and if it is anything like this past show, you better book now!

Almost sold out...he certainly filled the room!

2008 Entertainment Line Up

Jonathan's Ogunquit is proud to annouce the 2008 Entertainment Line Up!

We will start this June out with Jonathan Edwards(hence the song playing in the background) on Friday, June 13th at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are already selling steadily so make sure you make your reservations soon!

Bob Marley the Maine Comedian comes back again on Thursday, June 26th for another night of good ol' Maine Humor at 8:00 p.m. He will be appearing again at the end of the summer on Thursday, August 21st.

We start July off with a Bang on July 4th with the ever so funny, Paula Poundstone. She will be here on both Friday, July 4th & Saturday, July 5th both shows at 9:00 p.m. Every show she has had with us has been a SELL OUT so really...go on line and get your tickets now!

We continue with Comedy Nights every Thursday through August. Dave Russo & Tom Hayes will be appearing together on Thursday, July 10th at 8:00 p.m. The next week, Thursday, July 17th Jim Lauletta & PJ Walsh will be appearing at 8:00 p.m.

We continue with live performances straight through that weekend with Bill Morrissey on Friday, July 18th and Melissa Ferrick on Saturday, July 19th.

The next week will be another similiar packed week starting on Thursday, July 24th with Robbie Printz & Paul D'Angelo for Comedy Night.

Cheryl Wheeler will be coming to Jonathan's again on Friday, July 24th and the next night, Ellis Paul will be appearing...Saturday, July 25th!

Tony V will close out July for us with Comedy Night on Thurday, July 31st.

Jimmy Keys will be coming back again this year for another fantastic performance. Reserve now for Saturday, August 2nd , 9:00 p.m., as his tickets are already selling quick!

Now, ready for this...Matt Costa will be here on Sunday, August 3rd at 8:00 p.m.! Yes, this very upcoming new artist will be live at Jonathan's! Get this chance of a life time to be close & personal with this about to be over the top artist!

Joey Carroll & Jack Lynch start Thursday Night Comedy Night in August on the 7th.

Lori McKenna will be making her first appearance at Jonathan's on Saturday, August 9th, 9:00 p.m.

And for the first time ever, Jonathan's Ogunquit will have a hypnotist ..! That is right, Frank Santos, the "R" rated Hypnotist will be performing on Saturday, August 16th! Get ready for this one!!

As mentioned before, Bob Marley will be back on August 21st!

Maine Artist, Catie Curtis will make yet another appearance here at Jonathan's Ogunquit on Friday, August 22nd.

We are continuing on throughout the fall and start out with Tom Rush on Saturday, September 12th at 9:00 p.m.

Amanda Shaw & The Cute Boys will be here for the first time on Friday, September 26th! Check out this amazing young artist...she will blow your mind!

Richie Havens will also be making his debut at Jonathan's Ogunquit on Saturday, September 27th at 9:00 p.m.

Tracy Gramer will start off a weekend of shows on Friday, October 10th at 8:00 p.m. Red Molly will come on Sunday, October 12th at 8:00 p.m. A woman's power weekend at Jonthan's Ogunquit!

The next weekend we have the ever so lovely, Patty Larkin on Friday, October 17th at 8:00 p.m.

And to end the 2008 schedule we have Suzanne Westenhoeffer on Tuesday, October 21st! Tickets are already selling for this amazing comedian!
